Continuing Resolution through December 11th 

On Thursday, October 1, 2020, the President signed H.R. 8337, the “Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act,” which provides continued funding for the federal government through December 11, 2020.

NIST Awards More Than $4 Million to Small Businesses for Innovations in AI, Wildfire Forecasting and More

NIST has awarded 19 small businesses a total of more than $4.4 million in grants to support innovative technology development. The awardees will receive Phase I or Phase II funding through NIST’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The competitively selected proposals were submitted in response to a call for innovative products addressing specific technical needs.  Awards were made in a variety of disciplines such as optical imaging, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, topography mapping, wildfire forecasting and advanced manufacturing software tools.

National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week

November 9-14, 2020 is National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week – a week-long campaign to call attention to the contributions and innovations to society that cybersecurity practitioners make. Join us in promoting awareness & exploration of cybersecurity careers by hosting an event, participating in an event near you, or engaging students with cybersecurity content.

2020 NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference

The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference will be held virtually December 7-8, 2020.  The Conference will feature timely and thought-provoking presentations that highlight effective collaborations, bold experiments and innovations, and other potentially game-changing methods in support of growing the cybersecurity workforce.

Attendees will include training and educational leaders from academia, business, and government for two days of focused hands-on workshops and discussions in support of the NICE strategic goals.
