Healthcare Sector Community of Interest
April 2020 Update
 Hello,
As a member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) Healthcare Community of Interest (COI), the healthcare team would like to provide status updates to the current projects.
-
Securing Telehealth Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Ecosystem
The NCCoE recently announced the collaborators for the Securing Telehealth RPM project: Accuhealth, Cisco, Inova Health System, LogRhythm, MedCrypt, MedSec, Onclave, Tenable, University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Vivify Health. We arranged several completely remote working sessions with our collaborators over the last several weeks to integrate their technologies into the build and leverage their expertise. These efforts will help us develop an example solution for healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) to help them treat patients in their homes in a more secure manner.

NIST Special Publication (SP) 1800-24, Securing Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS)
We continue to build on the reference architecture presented in the draft NIST SP 1800-24. Over the last several weeks, we engaged with Microsoft to integrate remote storage capabilities into the PACS architecture. The effort will provide a more comprehensive security solution that more closely mirrors real-world HDO networking environments.
Like many of you, the NCCoE healthcare team is working remotely in our homes. We appreciate the flexibility of our collaborators to continue to support the work of the NCCoE, especially during these challenging times.
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
Thanks and as always, if you have any questions or feedback about the projects, please contact us at hit_nccoe@nist.gov.
Regards,
The NCCOE Healthcare Team
