Welcome to the NICE eNewsletter
Welcome to the 2016 winter edition of the NICE quarterly e-newsletter. As we wrap up an eventful year in the world of cybersecurity education and workforce development, we are happy to feature some informative and thought-provoking essays and articles for you to peruse as you baste the turkey or get out your winter wear. Foremost and with no small amount of collective pride, the launch of CyberSeek.org via a collaboration of the NICE program office, CompTIA and Burning Glass, puts meaningful cybersecurity career information directly into the user’s hands via the CyberSeek.org tool. Users can click and discover what employers want in the form of education, skills, and certifications for the advertised roles in the job markets they are targeting. Coverage of the recent National Governors Association (NGA) meeting provides insight into the important work being done by our state leaders to ensure they are ready to meet the threat of the cybersecurity hiring shortage. You will learn how states are working to increase the educational pipeline by providing resources and focus on computer science courses and teacher development. And we have some details on very exciting programs to incorporate cybersecurity lessons into standard public school computer science curriculum featuring links to detailed lesson plans, quizzes, and games. The essay from Optiv makes a homerun metaphor for how building your cybersecurity talent bench can match the approach used in the minor leagues for greater success.

Developed through a partnership of CompTIA, Burning Glass, and NICE, CyberSeek is designed to provide employers, job seekers, educators/trainers, and policy makers better visibility into the cybersecurity workforce.
