MEP Updates
Eblast Schedule Thank you for your input on the frequency of the MEP eblast. Moving forward, it will now be distributed every two weeks, typically on Mondays. In determining the optimal schedule, we realize there are many other internal communication tools, such as MEP Connect with real-time distribution, Working Group discussions, conference calls, and webinars. The eblast is intended to provide updates from NIST MEP to the national network, highlight content provided by Centers, and offer a central channel to distribute information to the entire MEP system. Please a summary of news to share to mepeblast@nist.gov by the Thursday prior.

He is currently on a detail assignment in the office of Senator Coons’ as a ASME Congressional Fellow through April 28 and will then depart to begin his new position. Please feel free to reach out to Mark at mark.troppe@nist.gov until then.

Cybersecurity Requirements Looming for Manufacturers PLYMOUTH, MI, Jan. 26, 2017 – Cybersecurity guidelines required by the Department of Defense (DoD) are likely to have an enormous impact on the 800 Michigan manufacturers that received a DoD contract in 2016. By December 31, 2017, all DoD contractors (including small businesses) must meet minimum cybersecurity requirements or risk losing DoD business. Alarmingly, most manufacturers aren’t even aware of the looming deadline or what they must do to comply.
