Depression can affect teenagers and adults differently. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is funding and conducting research to learn more about depression in teens, how it affects the brain, and how to treat it effectively. This webinar is designed for parents, caregivers, and educators who want to understand more about and address the needs of teens with depression.
About the Speaker
Kenneth E. Towbin, M.D., is a Senior Research Physician in the Emotion and Development Branch in the Intramural Research Program at NIMH. Dr. Towbin has been at the National Institutes of Health since 2001 and is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at The George Washington University School of Medicine. His focus is on serious psychopathology in children, including Tourette disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and mood disorders, and he has contributed to research and clinical care.
