Dear Members of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Community:
You are cordially invited to attend the next virtual Open Policy Session of the National Advisory Mental Health Council (NAMHC) on Monday, January 29, 2024. The NAMHC Open Policy Session is an excellent opportunity for the mental health research and advocacy communities to stay informed about current programs and priorities of the NIMH.
The Council meeting will be available via the NIH videocast website.
Planned presentations and discussions include:
- Joshua Gordon, M.D., Ph.D., NIMH Director, will give a report on NIMH.
- Renee Wegrzyn, Ph.D., Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Director, will present on ARPA-H’s progress.
- Susan Koester, Ph.D., Division of Neuroscience and Basic Behavioral Science (DNBBS) Deputy Director, will provide an update on the NIMH Special Council Review guidance.
- Staff members will discuss concepts for potential future funding initiatives.
- We will hear comments from retiring NAMHC members.
Due to the virtual nature of the meeting, only written comments may be submitted to NAMHCPublicComment@mail.nih.gov by 5:00 p.m. ET on January 25, 2024. Comments should be 500 words or less. Written comments will be shared with Council members but will not be posted or shared via videocast.
