NEWS AND EVENTS

July is Minority Mental Health Month

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality reports that racial and ethnic minority groups in the U.S. have less access to mental health services and are more likely to receive lower-quality care. Poor mental health care access and quality of care contribute to worse mental health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority populations.

Use the social media message below to help educate your community about the importance of improving access to mental health care for racial, ethnic, and other minority populations.

Mental disorders do not discriminate. During National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, take control of your mental health and learn the signs and symptoms, risk factors, and treatments for various mental disorders: nimh.nih.gov/espanol. #NMMHM #shareNIMH
