“Covert” Neurofeedback Tunes-up the Social Brain in ASD

Playing game boosts brain circuit connectivity – and maybe sociability

In a recent study from NIMH, young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) unknowingly tuned up under-connected neural connections by playing a picture puzzle game that was rigged by their own brain activity. The results suggest that covert neurofeedback may have potential as an intervention for improving social behavior in people with ASD.
