Dear Friend of NIMH:

 

You are cordially invited to attend the next Open Policy Session of the National Advisory Mental Health Council (NAMHC) on Thursday, February 9, 2017. The NAMHC Open Policy Session is an excellent opportunity for the mental health research and advocacy communities to become informed about current programs and priorities of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

 

The Open Policy Session will be held at the Neuroscience Building (NSC) 6001 Executive Boulevard, Conference Room C, Bethesda, MarylandThe meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am EST and conclude by 12:45 p.m. EST. Our Council meeting will also be available for viewing over the internet via the NIH video cast website at http://videocast.nih.gov/default.asp

 

The discussions planned include a report from NIMH Director, Dr. Joshua Gordon as well as a presentation on computational psychiatry by Dr. David Redish; a presentation on neural circuit technology by Dr. Bryan Roth; and a presentation on opportunities to reduce suicide by Dr. Cheryl King. NIMH also plans to discuss several concepts for potential future funding initiatives.
