NCI SBIR is looking for academic scientists who are ready to move from lab to market through the Small Business Transition Grant.
This unique program starts with a Phase I STTR award (up to $400,000) and transitions into a Phase II SBIR (up to $2 million). Proposed projects must fit into at least one of the following categories:
- Therapeutics and Preventative Agents
- Imaging Technologies, Interventional Devices, and In Vivo Diagnostics
- In Vitro and Ex Vivo Diagnostics and Prognostics
- Cancer Prevention and Control, Supportive Care, and Survivorship
NCI will host a virtual information session for interested applicants to learn more about the Small Business Transition Grant. Registration is required in advance.

NIA's newly launched Healthy Aging Start-Up Challenge is seeking remote volunteer mentors to advise Challenge finalists.
Eligibility: Passionate entrepreneurs, scientists, and investors who are excited to coach a cohort of diverse, emerging entrepreneurs as they pursue start-up ideas in the field of healthy aging.
Requirements: Commit between 1-5 hours per month between August - November 2022

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) has launched the Healthy Aging Start-Up Challenge and Bootcamp to Foster Diversity and Accelerate Innovation.
