Dr. Emily Caporello (panelist) joined the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) in 2019 and is a Program Director in the Division of Translational Research. Dr. Caporello oversees a portfolio of small business innovative research (SBIR), small business technology transfer (STTR), and BRAIN Technology Integration and Dissemination projects. Prior to NINDS, Dr. Caporello was the Vice President of Research at MindX Corporation, during which she directed research on the development and translation of brain-computer interface systems for a variety of applications.

Jonelle R. Soeffing (panelist) began her career as a Special Agent with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations in 2005. Jonelle led numerous multi-jurisdictional, criminal, and civil investigations resulting in successful prosecutions, settlements, fines, and recoveries exceeding $3.5 billion. Jonelle served as an intelligence analyst for the U.S. Army Reserves from 1995 to 2003 and as an intelligence research specialist with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms from 2002 to 2005. Jonelle currently serves as an Operations Officer in the Investigations Branch assigned to Headquarters.

Rob Vinson (moderator) serves as a Small Business Program Manager for the NIH SBIR & STTR Program in the Office of Extramural Research (OER). In this role, he is responsible for providing resources to Federal staffers and access to critical information for the small business community seeking early-stage Federal funding. His duties include serving as the Lead Representative for the NIH Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) Program. The TABA Needs Assessment Program helps small businesses identify and address their most pressing product development needs.

Artisha Wright (panelist) is the Other Transaction Authority Lead Agreement Specialist in the Other Transactions and Compliance Branch within the Office of Grants Management at NCATS working on Other Transaction awards and compliance projects. Since joining the Center in 2015, she has served as a senior grants management specialist managing a complex grants portfolio, project liaison of the SBIR/STTR program and mentored fellow grants management specialists. Additionally, she served as an agreement specialist working on Other Transactions for the SPARC and Translator programs since 2016. |
