The NIH Guide recently published the following funding opportunity announcements (FOAs):

New Funding Opportunities

  • PA-23-048: Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Research Training Grant (Parent T32). The NINR funds this program to enable institutions with schools of nursing to make awards for predoctoral and postdoctoral research training. Next Application Due Date: May 25, 2023

  • PAR-23-107 and PAR-23-108Career Enhancement Award to Advance Research on Firearm Injury and Mortality Prevention invites applications from experienced investigators seeking to redirect or expand their research programs through the acquisition of new skills and knowledge in the area of firearm mortality and injury prevention research, which is beyond and complementary to their current areas of expertise.

Continuing Funding Opportunities

  • RFA-PM-23-001: Enhancing the Use of the All of Us Research Program’s Data (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) supports the development of new analytical methods, models, and tools and using them to analyze data in the All of Us Researcher Workbench. Application Due Date: March 1, 2023
  • PAR-23-066: Research on Community Level Interventions for Firearm and Related Violence, Injury and Mortality Prevention (CLIF-VP) (UG3/UH3 Clinical Trial Required) will support a network of research projects to develop and test interventions at the community or community organization level that aim to prevent firearm and related violence, injury and mortality. Application Due Date: March 17, 2023

  • RFA-OD-22-015: Galvanizing Health Equity Through Novel and Diverse Educational Resources (GENDER) Research Education R25 (R25 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) invites applications to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a diverse workforce to meet the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research. Next Application Due Date: June 27, 2023

This research will be rooted in nursing's holistic, contextualized approach to understanding people and their health, address the nation's most pressing and persistent health challenges with a solutions orientation, and employ innovative and rigorous study designs to inform practice and policy.

Future Directions in Violence Against Women Research

NOT-NR-23-008: Request for Information (RFI): Future Directions in Violence Against Women Research is intended to gather public input on priority scientific directions in violence against women research. Specifically, NINR and participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices are soliciting comments from the public on scientific gaps and research opportunities to address longstanding and emergent factors that perpetuate violence against women. This request solicits input on a broad range of topics to inform research directions to better understand and identify opportunities to address underlying causes that influence women’s exposure to violence and to identify approaches to address the health impacts and sequelae of violence against women. Responses Due: March 31, 2023
