The NIH Guide recently published the following funding opportunity announcements (FOAs):

New Funding Opportunities

  • RFA-OD-22-028: The Intersection of Sex and Gender Influences on Health and Disease (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) solicits applications on the influence and intersection of sex and gender in health and disease, including: (1) research applications that examine sex and gender factors and their intersection in understanding health and disease; and (2) research that addresses one of the five objectives from Strategic Goal 1 of the 2019-2023 Trans-NIH Strategic Plan for Women's Health Research "Advancing Science for the Health of Women."
    First Application Due Date: December 19, 2022
  • NOT-HD-22-043: Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Implementation Science to Advance Maternal Health and Maternal Health Equity for the IMPROVE initiative seeks to stimulate dissemination and implementation research on innovative approaches built on evidence-based findings from foundational research on factors that contribute to maternal morbidity and mortality. First Application Due Date: February 6, 2023

 

Continuing Funding Opportunities

  • PAR-21-287: Effectiveness of School-Based Health Centers to Advance Health Equity (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) supports research that investigates the effectiveness of school-based health centers (SBHCs) as a health services care delivery model to address the needs of school-aged children from populations with health disparities (hence, underserved youth). Next Application Due Date: February 5, 2023

 

NINR Areas of Emphasis for Research to Optimize Health and Advance Health Equity 

  • PAR-22-230: (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) solicits R01 grant applications that propose independent research projects that are consistent with the scientific framework detailed in the NINR Strategic Plan. Next Application Due Date: February 5, 2023
  • PAR-22-231: (R21 Clinical Trial Optional) solicits R21 grant applications that propose exploratory/developmental research projects that are consistent with the research framework detailed in the NINR Strategic PlanNext Application Due Date: February 16, 2023

This research will be rooted in nursing's holistic, contextualized approach to understanding people and their health, address the nation's most pressing and persistent health challenges with a solutions orientation, and employ innovative and rigorous study designs to inform practice and policy.
