Funding Opportunities

The NIH Guide recently published the following funding opportunity announcements (FOAs):

  • PAR-20-153: NIH Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) (R25 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed) supports educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. Next Application Due Date: July 13, 2022
  • NOT-GM-22-005: Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Administrative Supplements for Research on Women’s Health in the IDeA States announces the availability of administrative supplements to IDeA awards to expand research and research capacity that addresses important issues of women’s health across the lifespan. First Application Due Date: October 17, 2022

Continuing Funding Opportunities

  • RFA-OD-22-005: Emergency Awards: RADx®-UP - Social, Ethical, and Behavioral Implications (SEBI) Research on Disparities in COVID-19 Testing among Underserved and Vulnerable Populations (U01 Clinical Trial Optional) supports social, ethical, and behavioral implications research to understand and reduce barriers to COVID-19 testing, as well as COVID-19 disparities that arise from barriers to testing among underserved and vulnerable populations. Application Due Date: May 2, 2022
  • RFA-OD-22-006: Emergency Award: RADx-UP Community-Engaged Research on Rapid SARS-CoV-2 Testing among Underserved and Vulnerable Populations (U01 Clinical Trial Optional) will support two-year Rapid Testing Research Projects that will evaluate (1) rapid testing interventions to prevent and control COVID-19 transmission among underserved and vulnerable populations and (2) partnership-driven research to implement and evaluate rapid testing and reduce COVID-19 disparities. Application Due Date: May 2, 2022
  • RFA-RM-22-001Limited Competition: Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity at Minority Serving Institutions (U01 Clinical Trial Optional). The NIH Common Fund’s Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity initiative has issued this FOA to support projects that propose unusually innovative research projects intended to have a major impact in developing, implementing, or disseminating innovative and effective interventions to prevent, reduce, or eliminate health disparities and advance health equity. Application Due Date: May 23, 2022
  • Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health funding opportunities to be reissued with the goal of supporting studies that will identify, develop, and/or test strategies for overcoming barriers to the adoption, adaptation, integration, scale-up, and sustainability of evidence-based interventions, practices, programs, tools, treatments, guidelines, and policies:

    • NOT-CA-22-043R21 Clinical Trial Optional, First Application Due Date: June 16, 2022
  • NOT-MD-22-006: NOSI: Research to Address Vaccine Hesitancy, Uptake, and Implementation among Populations that Experience Health Disparities seeks applications to foster strategies and interventions to address vaccine hesitancy, uptake, and implementation among populations who experience health disparities in the US and its territories. Next Application Due Date: June 8, 2022
