The NIH Guide recently published the following funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) with NINR participation.

  • RFA-NR-22-001: A funding opportunity announcement for Evaluating the Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic-related Food and Housing Policies and Programs on Health Outcomes in Health Disparity Populations (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)Application Due Date: April 07, 2022
  • RFA-NR-22-002 and RFA-NR-22-003Two funding opportunity announcements for Advancing Integrated Models (AIM) of Care to Improve Maternal Health Outcomes among Women Who Experience Persistent Disparities, seek to foster intervention research that addresses structural inequities and reduces disparities in severe maternal morbidity and mortality. Application Due Date: April 07, 2022
  • NOT-MD-22-006: Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Research to Address Vaccine Hesitancy, Uptake, and Implementation among Populations that Experience Health Disparities seeks applications to foster strategies and interventions to address vaccine hesitancy, uptake, and implementation among populations who experience health disparities in the US and its territories. First Application Due Date: February 05, 2022
  • Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduate Schools will support small scale research grants at institutions that do not receive substantial funding from the NIH, with an emphasis on providing biomedical research experiences primarily for health professional, undergraduate and graduate students and enhancing the research environment at applicant institutions. First Application Due Date: February 25, 2022
  • PAR-22-092: Health Care Models for Persons with Multiple Chronic Conditions from Populations that Experience Health Disparities: Advancing Health Care towards Health Equity (R01 - Clinical Trials Optional) will support innovative, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary research designed to study the effective adaptation, integration, and implementation of recommended guidelines of care of persons with multiple chronic conditions (MCCs) from populations that experience health disparities. First Application Due Date: March 18, 2022
  • RFA-NS-22-037: HEAL Initiative: Advancing Health Equity in Pain and Comorbidities (R61/R33 Clinical Trial Required) solicits applications to develop, test, and implement novel, culturally-appropriate pain interventions and/or adapt, test and evaluate efficacy and effectiveness of existing pain interventions, in populations that disproportionately experience negative health outcomes. Application Due Date: March 22, 2022
  • NOT-NS-22-066: HEAL Initiative: NOSI regarding the Availability of Administrative Supplements to Support Strategies to Increase Participant Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement in Clinical Studies provides an opportunity for clinical trials and studies funded by the Helping to End Addiction Long-Term (HEAL) initiative to address challenges of recruitment, retention and engagement of populations suffering from pain and opioid use disorder. Applications accepted through April 29, 2022
  • NOT-CA-22-037: NOSI: Validation of Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence Tools for Improved Assessment in Epidemiological, Clinical, and Intervention Research encourages grant applications to support the evaluation of the utility and validity of digital health and artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies in epidemiological, clinical, and intervention research.   • NOT-OD-22-057: NOSI: Administrative Supplements to Recognize Excellence in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Mentorship invites applications to support administrative supplements to existing awards of scientists who are outstanding mentors and who have demonstrated compelling commitments and contributions to enhancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the biomedical sciences. Application Due Date: April 7, 2022
  • NOT-OD-22-065: NOSI: Administrative Supplements for Advancing the Ethical Development and Use of AI/ML in Biomedical and Behavioral Sciences announces the availability of funds for Administrative Supplements to active NIH grants that have a significant Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) and/or ethics component. The funds will support collaborations that bring together expertise in ethics, biomedicine, data collection, and AI/ML to advance the understanding, tools, metrics, and practices for the ethical development and use of AI/ML in biomedical and behavioral sciences. Application Due Date: March 31, 2022
  • NOT-OD-22-067: NOSI: Administrative Supplements to Support Collaborations to Improve the AI/ML-Readiness of NIH-Supported Data announces the availability of supplements to active grants which are intended to support collaborations that bring together expertise in biomedicine, data management, and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to make NIH-supported data useful and usable for AI/ML analytics. Application Due Date: March 17, 2022
  • The NIH Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health Program Announcements are being reissued with a new focus on equity and additional emphasis on stakeholder engagement. Estimated Publication Date: May 8, 2022

Continuing Funding Opportunities

  • NOT-OD-22-026: Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Administrative Supplement for Research and Capacity Building Efforts Related to Bioethical Issues (Admin Supp Clinical Trial Optional) seeks to fund research (both clinical and basic) on ethical considerations related to biomedical research and projects that support capacity building in bioethics. Applications accepted until March 17, 2022.
  • PAR-21-358: Risk and Protective Factors of Family Health and Family Level Interventions (R01 - Clinical Trial Optional) will support family level health observational and intervention studies in the biomedical, clinical, population, behavioral or social sciences. First Application Due Date: June 05, 2022
