If your NIH research grant work was adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, then you may be eligible for an extension. NIH recently announced that NIH fellowship (F) and career development (K) research grant recipients directly affected by COVID-19 may apply for no-cost extensions and funded extensions (NOT-OD-21-052). These extension requests will be reviewed by NIH and authorized organization officials and considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the availability of funds.
Each request should outline how the COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected the grant recipient’s training and career development. Extensions may be subject to additional requirements.
