NIMHD Supports Sleep Disparities Research

Sleep is an important determinant of overall health. However, 30% to 40% of adults and 65% to 80% of adolescents in the United States report sleep deficiencies. Racial and ethnic minority populations and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations have the highest prevalence of sleep deficiency. NIMHD is supporting a new funding opportunity to promote research into the underlying mechanisms of sleep deficiencies among U.S. populations that experience health disparities and how sleep deficiencies may lead to disparities in health outcomes.

NIMHD encourages investigators to participate in this important public health activity and welcomes inquiries concerning this funding opportunity. Review the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for more information on eligibility and application submissions.

Open Date (Earliest Submission Date): June 12, 2020

Application Due Date: July 14, 2020, by 5:00 p.m. local time of applicant organization
