NIMHD Seeking Public Review and Comments on Preliminary Social Determinants of Health Measurement Protocols

PhenX

The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities is currently seeking feedback on social determinants of health measures proposed for inclusion in the PhenX (consensus measures for Phenotypes and eXposures) Toolkit.  The PhenX Toolkit (www.phenxtoolkit.org) provides investigators with access to well-established, low burden, standardized measures to incorporate into new or existing biomedical studies involving human subjects. The goal of the Toolkit is to encourage use of common measures to help researchers effectively collaborate and share data.

To help with a need for standard measures in social determinants of health, NIMHD sponsored a supplement for PhenX to develop standard measures related to social determinants of health.  The Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Working Group (WG) has been working diligently for the past year to identify suitable measurement protocols.

The PhenX Social Determinants of Health Working Group invites you to provide input on the new preliminary measurement protocols they have selected. The PhenX Toolkit already includes a number of protocols that are relevant to SDOH. All responses must be completed using the Feedback Form and submitted by email to feedback@phenx.org by February 5, 2020.  Access the PhenX Portal to review the proposed social determinants of health measures.
