CEAL updated its Long COVID web page with three new fact sheets that focus on how community-based organizations can share Long COVID information with their communities and how study volunteers can help scientists understand more about the condition. The updated web page also has links to clinical trials and other resources.

CEAL Interest Groups support successful community-engaged research and outreach for CEAL teams collaborating with their communities of focus. In this Spotlight, the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA NHPI) Interest Group shares how they came together to help vaccinate and support communities hit hardest by the pandemic.

CEAL welcomes new co-chairs
CEAL is excited to announce the arrival of two new CEAL Steering Committee co-chairs and one new CEAL Communication Work Group co-chair. Dr. Gregory Talavera, a behavioral medicine professor at San Diego State University, and Dr. Celia Kaplan, a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, will join standing co-chairs, Rev. Kendrick Curry and Ms. Rita Carreon, to lead the CEAL Steering Committee. Dr. Shelia Murphy, a communication professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg, will join Dr. Susan Eggly to co-chair the CEAL Communication Work Group.

Mississippi CEAL presents at White House Summit
In November, the White House and CDC hosted the "White House Summit on COVID-19 Equity and What Works Showcase.” Victor Sutton, Ph.D., director of the Office of Preventive Health and Health Equity at the Mississippi State Department of Health, shared what Mississippi CEAL has done to help close the gap in African American COVID-19 disparities in the state.

HHS releases holiday toolkit
As more people gather with loved ones during the holiday season, help spread the word about the importance of everyone staying up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines. Use this new HHS holiday toolkit to find answers to frequently asked questions, talking points, tips, and other science-based information about COVID-19 and its vaccines.

Order free at-home COVID-19 tests
To help control COVID cases this winter, every household in the U.S. is eligible to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests. The rapid antigen tests can be taken anywhere and will give results within 30 minutes. If you need help placing an order, call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489).

Report rapid COVID-19 test results with Make My Test Count
You can now report a positive or negative COVID-19 at-home test result through MakeMyTestCount.org. NIH’s Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx®) Tech program helped develop the site, which encourages users to anonymously report test results. COVID-19 testing remains an essential public health tool, especially as Americans head into the holiday season.
