Hispanicize: #DeTiDepende Virtual Summit
March 12, 2021 | Watch the Event Recording
In Hispanicize's keynote talk, NIH’s Anthony Fauci, M.D., and journalist Paola Ramos discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Latinx community, the myths and facts about getting vaccinated, and why the vaccine will help the Latinx community to “get back to life.”
“We need leaders in the communities that people trust to get out and speak to them," said Dr. Fauci. "They want to hear it from their own communities.” He also touched on the importance of trust and empathy as scientists address skepticism and vaccine hesitancy in minority communities.
