Join us to kick off the 2025 season of Building Bridges in Cancer Symptom Science, where we will focus on the complex issue of cancer cachexia. Drs. Erin Talbert and Eric Roeland will share their perspectives on developing preclinical models to better understand cancer cachexia and translating this research to impactful clinical interventions.

NIH HEAL Initiative®

Join the NIH HEAL Initiative® for an open session of its Multi-Disciplinary Working Group on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM ET to hear updates on research efforts to address the overdose and pain crises. 

This session will feature: 

  • NIH Leadership Updates – Hear key insights on HEAL progress from NIH leadership. 
  • HEAL Prevention Research – Learn about the research projects aimed at enhancing the implementation and evaluation of overdose prevention strategies.  
  • HEAL Pain Research Recommendations – Get information about new pain research recommendations presented by the co-chairs of a Working Group of the National Advisory Neurological Disorders and Stroke Council that is leading the effort. 

Learn about a recent series of public workshops led by Working Group members with researchers, clinicians, and individuals with lived experience to inform the development of the pain research recommendations. Access the workshop summaries and recordings here
