Blood Test Detects Early Pancreatic Cancer |

In a new study involving nearly 1,000 people, a liquid biopsy accurately detected early- and late-stage pancreatic cancer. When paired with a test for the protein CA19-9, the combination accurately identified 97% of people with early-stage disease.

Targeted Therapy Approved for Lung Cancer
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the targeted therapy alectinib for ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer. Results from a large clinical trial showed that those treated with alectinib after surgery lived longer without their cancer coming back than those treated with chemotherapy, the current standard treatment.

Tovorafenib Approved for Brain Tumors in Children
FDA has approved the targeted therapy tovorafenib (Ojemda) for children aged 6 months and older who have a type of brain tumor called glioma. This approval is for slow-growing (low-grade) tumors that have an abnormal BRAF gene and have come back or did not respond to other treatment.
