Targeted Therapy Slows Progression of Certain Lung and Thyroid Cancers
Selpercatinib targets abnormal RET proteins, whereas cabozantinib and vandetanib target several cancer-related proteins, including RET.   For people with lung cancer or medullary thyroid cancer that has changes in the RET gene, the targeted therapy drug selpercatinib (Retevmo) may delay cancer growth longer than other common treatments.

FDA Amends Approval of Pembrolizumab to Treat Stomach and Esophageal Junction Cancer

The agency also announced a new approval of pembrolizumab for HER2-negative forms of these cancers.
