A Potential Treatment Approach for Rhabdomyosarcoma
KDM4B paired with PAX3-FOXO1 opens DNA, turns genes on, causing tumors to grow. When KDM4B is blocked, DNA closes, genes turn off, causing tumors to shrink.   The protein that drives the growth and survival of some rhabdomyosarcoma tumors relies on the KDM4B enzyme, researchers found. Treating mice with a KDM4B-blocking drug and chemotherapy got rid of nearly all rhabdomyosarcoma tumors with the protein.
