CURE K01

The CURE K01 Mentored Research Scientist Development Award to Promote Diversity enhances workforce diversity by promoting cancer research career development and mentored training experience to individuals from underrepresented groups.

Here is what you need to know:

What Does the K01 Offer?

  • Three to five years of salary (up to $100,000), training, coursework, mentoring and research support
  • Guidance from experienced mentors with a track record of NIH funding
  • A pathway to an independent cancer research career and "tenure track" position
  • Annual Professional Development Workshop with Mock Review Experience
  • Opportunities to increase publication productivity
  • Development of a strong skill set to help you be more competitive for NIH funding

CURE K08

The CURE K08 Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Development Award to Promote Diversity enhances workforce diversity by providing underrepresented clinical scientists with support and protected time for intensive, mentored research experience in the fields of clinical, behavioral, translational, or patient-oriented cancer research.

Here is what you need to know:

What Does the CURE K08 Offer?

  • Three to five years of salary (up to the legislative salary cap and fringe benefits annually)
  • Protected time for clinical research
  • Mentorship from experienced investigators
  • A pathway to an independent cancer research career
  • Annual Professional Development Workshop with Mock Review Experience

CURE K22

The CURE K22 Transition Career Development Award to Promote Diversity provides support to outstanding newly trained basic or clinical investigators to develop their independent research skills through a two-phase program, an initial mentored research experience, followed by a period of independent research.

What Does the CURE K08 Offer?

  • Protected research time through salary and research support
  • Three years of support beginning at the time the candidate starts a “tenure-track” faculty position
  • A pathway to an independent cancer research career and tenure track position
  • Development of a strong skill set to help you be more competitive for NIH funding
