CAR T-Cell Therapy Approved for Some Children and Young Adults with Leukemia
Manufactured CAR T cells ready for infusion into a patient   The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved tisagenlecleucel (Kymriah™), a type of immunotherapy called CAR T-cell therapy, for some children and young adults with advanced acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Targeted Drug Shows Promise for Childhood Cancers
The gene EML4 is a common fusion partner in cancers with ALK gene alterations known as translocations.   Results from a clinical trial show that childhood cancers that have changes in the ALK gene may benefit from the targeted drug crizotinib (Xalkori®).
Stem Cells Deliver Chemotherapy to Metastatic Tumors

Researchers have used stem cells that have been changed in the lab to deliver a cancer drug to metastatic breast cancer in mice.

Two New Therapies Approved for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Gene Therapy for Leukemia

We’ve added a new drug information summary for tisagenlecleucel, which is used to treat ALL. This procedure is the first gene therapy approved by FDA.
New Drug for Leukemia

We’ve added a new drug summary for inotuzumab ozogamicin, which was recently approved by FDA to treat ALL.

New Form of Rituximab

See our new drug summary on rituximab and hyaluronidase human, which is approved to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This combination drug is given under the skin, so treatment times are shorter than they are for rituximab alone.
