FDA Approves Nivolumab for Bladder Cancer
SET THIS ALT TEXT   Results from a phase II clinical trial have led to the accelerated approval of nivolumab for the treatment of bladder cancer. Nivolumab is the second immune checkpoint inhibitor to be approved for this disease.

Our PDQ summary on rectal cancer has updated information on risk factors for rectal cancer and targeted therapies used to treat it.

Medicinal Mushrooms

We have a new PDQ summary on the use of mushrooms in the treatment of cancer. The summary focuses on a certain mushroom with an active ingredient called PSK. The summary includes information about the history of the use of mushrooms in medicine, how PSK is thought to work, and studies that have been done on its use in cancer.
Drug Information Updates

Lenalidomide for Multiple Myeloma

We’ve updated our summary on lenalidomide, which was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be used alone as maintenance therapy in patients with multiple myeloma who received a stem cell transplant. It was previously approved to be used with dexamethasone to treat multiple myeloma.
Methylnaltrexone Bromide for Constipation

We've added a new drug summary for methylnaltrexone bromide. It is used to treat constipation caused by opioids, which are often used by patients with advanced cancer to treat pain.
