NIH Human Virome Program Funding Opportunities: Webinar on October 16

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Common Fund has issued notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs) for the Human Virome Program (HVP). The goal of the HVP is to characterize the human virome, including viruses with eukaryotic and prokaryotic hosts. The HVP will also create tools, models, and methods for studying the virome. The new funding opportunities will cover the following areas:

• Characterization of the human virome in longitudinal, diverse cohorts across the lifespan
• Development of novel and innovative tools to interrogate and annotate the human virome
• Characterization of functional interactions between viruses and human and microbial hosts
• Creation of a Consortium Organization and Data Collaboration Center (CODCC) for the HVP

Prospective applicants are invited to a pre-application webinar on Monday, October 16, 2023, from noon to 1:30 p.m. ET. NIH staff will discuss the funding opportunities and answer questions about the application and review process. Questions for the webinar should be submitted to HumanVirome@od.nih.gov by 11:59 p.m. local time on October 13, 2023. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the Human Virome website.
