NCCIH Deputy Director Dr. David Shurtleff will present a grand rounds webinar on “The Science and Practice of Cannabinoid-Based Research Therapies” on Thursday, August 27 at noon, ET. This event is sponsored by the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health.
Dr. Shurtleff’s presentation will be aimed at researchers, clinicians, and others who would like to learn more about current use, research, and policies with regard to cannabis or cannabinoids. He will discuss:
- The biological basis of cannabinoids
- Cannabis-based medication development and patterns of clinical use
- The potential of minor cannabinoids and terpenes for pain management
- Research and clinical practice challenges for cannabinoids.
