Join us Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in Boston, MA in advance of the World Congress on Pain. You can register for the symposium even if you’re not attending the Congress. The cost is only $20.

  • Can kratom or other herbs play a role in pain management? Dr. Edward Boyer of Brigham and Women’s Hospital will talk about mechanisms of diets and natural products in pain management. Dr. Boyer and other distinguished speakers will discuss developments in different areas of pain-related natural products research.

  • Learn about research incorporating complementary and integrative health approaches into chronic pain management from Dr. Susmita Kashikar-Zuck of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

  • There’s a lot of interest in incorporating mind and body approaches – such as meditation and acupuncture – into pain management. But how do these methods work? What’s actually going on in the nervous system? Dr. Vitaly Napadow of Harvard Medical School and other distinguished researchers will discuss this topic.

  • Find out about how neuroimaging can play a role in individualized integrative pain care from Dr. Tor Wager of University of Colorado Boulder.

  • Learn about the mechanisms by which meditation and breathing techniques may play a role in managing pain from Dr. Fadel Zeidan of Wake Forest University.

  • Learn about engagement of the endocannabinoid pathway for pain regulation from Dr. Andrea Hohmann of Indiana University.
