Notice of Intent to
Publish a Funding Opportunity Announcement for NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience
Research: Dynamic Neuroimmune Interactions in the Transition from Brain
Function to Dysfunction (R01)
Notice Number: NOT-AA-17-006
NIH Blueprint for
Neuroscience Research intends to promote a new initiative by publishing a
Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to solicit applications for research on
Dynamic Neuroimmune Interactions in the Transition from Brain Function to
Dysfunction. NCCIH is one of twelve other ICs signed on to this trans-NIH
initiative. The goal of this FOA is to transform our understanding of how
dynamic interactions among multiple cell types involved in neuroimmune inter
actions (e.g., neurons, glia cells, neurovascular units) mediate the transition
from normal brain function to disease conditions. With this FOA, we encourage
projects that combine diverse expertise and use innovative approaches to
address these questions at the molecular, cellular, and circuitry levels. The
outcomes of this research will provide an integrated view of the dynamic changes
among multiple neuroimmune components and how they contribute to the onset and
progression of CNS disorders. This Notice is being provided to allow potential
applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive
projects. The FOA is expected to be published in fall 2017 with an
expected application due date in winter 2017.
Notice of Intent to Publish a Funding Opportunity Announcement for Point
of Care Technologies Research Network Centers (U54)
Notice Number: NOT-EB-17-004
The National Institute of
Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood
Institute,
the National Institute on Aging, the Office of Behavioral and Social
Sciences Research,
the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, and
the Fogarty International Center intends to reissue RFA-EB-11-002, Point-of-Care Technologies
Research Network (POCTRN), with modifications. POCTRN’s purpose is to drive the
development and/or application of appropriate point-of-care technologies
through collaborative efforts that merge scientific and technological
capabilities with clinical need. The POCTRN Research Centers will create a
national research network that works to build expertise in the development
and/or application of integrated point-of-care systems that address unmet
clinical needs in point-of-care testing through the creation of
multidisciplinary partnerships. The NCCIH is interested in supporting centers
to develop and validate technologies that assess symptoms commonly treated by
the public with complementary and integrative health (CIH) approaches or
technologies that monitor or enhance these approaches for symptom
management, prevention of diseases, and promotion of well-being.
This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to
develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. The FOA is expected to be published in Summer 2017 with an expected application
due date in Fall 2017.
