Summaries show how CEAL teams are promoting health equity in their communities |
|
CEAL research teams are working to promote health equity, improve health outcomes, and strengthen community partnerships through community-engaged research. These efforts help people live longer, healthier lives. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that vaccination rates in CEAL communities were nearly 6% higher than in comparable non-CEAL communities by late 2022. Learn more about this and other ways CEAL teams impacted communities by checking out four new impact summaries from the CEAL Regional Teams on the NIH CEAL website.
April is National Minority Health Month
National Minority Health Month builds awareness about the health disparities among racial and ethnic minority and American Indian/Alaska Native populations. This year's theme, “Be the Source for Better Health: Improving Health Outcomes Through Our Cultures, Communities, and Connections,” is about understanding how the unique environments, cultures, histories, and social determinants of health affect the health of these populations. The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) offers many resources, toolkits, and events for everyone to take action to end these inequities.
