Enrolling adults who are positive for COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant challenges to health systems around the world. While many tools have been developed in response to the pandemic, there is currently no efficient method to quickly screen large numbers of people for the disease. Research indicates that individuals with COVID-19 have elevated levels of certain proteins related to immune response and inflammation. Dr. James Gulley and his team of researchers aim to explore whether a new technology can detect COVID-19 infection by analyzing images of fingertips captured with a special camera.
To participate, you must:
• Be 18 years or older
• Provide a positive COVID-19 antigen or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test within 7 days from study enrollment
Study involves:
• A 1-day visit to the NIH Clinical Center within 7 days from COVID-19 testing
• The visit will last for 3 to 4 hours
• All study tests are provided at no cost and compensation may be provided
