Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD seek volunteers diagnosed with mild to moderate psoriasis to participate in a research study. Psoriasis causes chronic inflammation in the body. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute researchers want to see if a specific form of vitamin B3 dietary supplement can improve the immune system function in the blood and skin of people with mild to moderate psoriasis. This research may lead to more information that could provide other treatment options for patients diagnosed with psoriasis.
Study Design:
• Medical history and physical exam
• 2-3 outpatient visits
• Blood draws and optional skin biopsies
Who Can Participate:
• Patients between the ages of 18-70 years old
• Diagnosed with mild to moderate psoriasis
• Patients willing to participate in all required evaluations and procedures
