March is National Kidney Month

Did you know that high blood pressure is the 2nd leading cause of kidney failure in the U.S.? Chronic kidney disease is a serious condition that increases your chances of having a variety of complications such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and death.

That’s why this March, in honor of National Kidney Month, NIDDK is partnering with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to encourage you to manage your high blood pressure and help protect your kidneys.
