INML friends,

This is Joseph Porcelli from NeighborsForNeighbors.org. What's good neighbor?

I am writing to request that you forward the below message about my SnowCrew project to your email list. This past weekend SnowCrew helped resolve 58 shovel requests in the greater Boston area! With word spreading, we're gonna need more volunteers to meet demand and you need your help to make this happen.

BEGIN::

SUBJECT: Help dig out neighbors who are elderly, disabled, or ill after snowstorms

Friends,

We are writing to invite you participate in wonderful program called SnowCrew. You may have heard about it on NPR, seen it on the CBS Evening News, or read about in the Boston Globe. SnowCrew is a volunteer community initiative that matches neighbors who are elderly, disabled, or ill with nearby neighbors who can and want to shovel them out after snowstorms.

We encourage you to sign up to be notified via email or text message when a neighbor in your neighborhood (Boston, Cambridge and Somerville) requests shoveling assistance. Sign up now --> http://bit.ly/SCnotify

For most of us the snow is beautiful when it is coming down and a hassle for travel but for the elderly and people with disabilities it can leave them stranded in their homes with out access to needed medications, food, and services. Even if you can not or do not want to shovel, you can still help spread the word!

Here is how to get involved:

During last weekends storm SnowCrew helped resolve 58 shovel requests. With the word getting out, SnowCrew need your help to ensure all of your neighbors remain healthy and cared for after the next snowstorm.

Thank you!

END::

If there is something I can do you help you move your mission forward or you just want to say hello - hit me up!
