Tips from Fort Belvoir dentist: How to improve your child’s dental health

According to the American Dental Association, an estimated 51 million school hours are lost each year due to dental-related absence. Although tooth decay is largely preventable, it remains the most common chronic disease of children aged 6 to 11 years and adolescents aged 12 to 19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that tooth decay is four times more common than asthma among adolescents aged 14 to 17.
