MBDA is Excited to Announce More Than $11M in Grant Funding Opportunities

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) just issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) to launch the opening of its grant competition! MBDA seeks innovative proposals from organizations that are helping minority businesses address their most pressing needs and those of the communities they serve. These grants will provide applicants the flexibility and support to grow their operations and are consistent with MBDA’s mission to ensure minority-owned businesses continue to be instrumental in making America stronger.

Think your organization qualifies? Submit your application here. MBDA is accepting applications through 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, July 11, 2018 for proposals that align with the following MBDA key priorities:

  • Access to Capital
  • American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian Project
  • Aquaculture
  • Disaster Readiness
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Entrepreneurship Education Program for Formerly Incarcerated Persons
  • Global Minority Women Economic Empowerment Initiative
  • Historically Black Colleges & Universities Initiative
  • Inclusive Infrastructure Initiative
  • Research
  • Space Commerce
  • Sustainable Business Model
  • Technology Transfer and Commercialization
  • Virtual Business Centers

Eligible applicants may be for-profit entities (including but not limited to sole proprietorships, partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations), non-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, commercial organizations, state and local government entities, quasi-government entities, Indian Tribal governments, Tribal entities, and Native Hawaiian entities.

MBDA will hold a pre-application teleconferences scheduled for June 21 at 2pm for interested applicants. For more information, or to register for the call, please visit mbda.gov. A recording of the teleconference call and Frequently Asked Questions will be posted on MBDA’s website.  Applicants are encouraged to register with grants.gov immediately and submit proposals as soon as possible.
