LANL Hazardous Waste Facility Permit

Locations of Public Reading Rooms have been announced.

LANL has upgraded our electronic and printed information repositories in compliance with the Hazardous Waste Facility Permit. Both of the repositories contain information required
by the Permit such as environmental documents, reports, and correspondence.

The electronic version of the information repository, known as the Electronic Public Reading Room (EPRR), can be found at http://eprr.lanl.gov

The print or hard copy Public Reading Room (HPRR) is located at:

J. Robert Oppenheimer Study Center and Research Library

4200 West Jemez Road at Casa Grande

Los Alamos, NM 87545

The HPRR is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. More information on the HPRR and a map can be found at http://www.lanl.gov/environment/outreach/prr.shtml. I have also attached a map for your convenience. 

 In view of public input, the Permittees are currently evaluating options for relocating the HPRR to another location in Pojoaque or Española at some time later this calendar year.

Establishment of the EPRR and notification of location information for the HPRR was required no later than June 28, 2011. The Las Conchas Wildfire forced closure of the Laboratory beginning Monday, June 27, 2011 and the Permittees requested a two-week extension from the date the Laboratory re-opened for this compliance deadline. The NMED-HWB granted this extension request on June 28, 2011. The Laboratory re-opened on July 6, 2011.
