EU CIRCULAR ECONOMY TRANSITION: FULL SPEED AHEAD
The transition to a circular economy is one of the pillars of the European Commission’s Green Deal. By moving away from the produce – use – dispose model, in favor of a circular approach to consumption the Commission hopes to make significant cuts to the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions coming from virgin raw material extraction and hopes to decrease pollution and associated biodiversity loss.
To achieve the circular economy transition, the Commission will be putting forward several pieces of legislation over the course of 2022. New rules will affect several different sectors. It is a crucial time for U.S. businesses to engage with the EU on circular economy.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Green Tech U.S. Business Delegation - Egypt May 14-17, 2022
With a goal of dedicating 50% of investments to green projects by 2024-2025, the Government of Egypt has taken an ambitious approach to the country’s climate adaptation and mitigation priorities. To achieve this will require a unified commitment from the public and private sectors to forge real climate solutions, and the American business community continues to be a leader in this effort.
As Egypt prepares to host COP27 on behalf of the African continent this November, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with AmCham Egypt, will leverage our strong track record of convening U.S. business leaders with key government stakeholders to organize and lead a GreenTech Business Delegation to Egypt in May 2022.
Delegation members will learn first-hand of the business opportunities in renewable energy, waste management, water resources management, energy efficiency, and other areas related to Egypt’s green strategy. With Egypt hosting this year’s UN Climate Conference – COP27 – in November, this Mission is an ideal occasion for showcasing American solutions in Green Tech to Egyptian decision-makers.
