Minority Business Trade Mission to Italy, Spain and Portugal May 15 – 21, 2022
The United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration (ITA), is organizing an executive-led Minority-Business Focused Trade Mission (MBTM) to Italy, Spain, and Portugal. This mission is aligned with a key goal of the Biden-Harris Administration to build back better with equity.
These three European countries represent approximately 23% of the total European GDP, totaling over $3.1 trillion reaching a population of over 117 million. In 2020 U.S. exports to these markets reached over $34.4 billion.

Call for Nominations: US-India CEO Forum
The Department of Commerce is recruiting CEOs for the U.S. Section of the U.S.-India CEO Forum. Established in 2005, the U.S.-India CEO Forum brings together leaders of the respective business communities of the United States and India to discuss issues of mutual interest, particularly ways to strengthen the economic and commercial ties between the two countries, and to communicate their joint recommendations to the U.S. and Indian governments. More information can be found in the Federal Register Notice, which supersedes the notice from last year and is in line with the Administration’s economic and commercial priorities. All eligible CEOs, including the CEOs who applied last year, are welcome to apply. ITA will accept nominations on a rolling basis for membership on the Forum but immediate consideration will be given to applicants received by March 21.

Clean EDGE Asia Business Development Mission to Southeast Asia June 6-10, 2022
ITA will assemble a trade mission delegation that is representative of a broad range of energy sectors, with an emphasis on those sectors that advance clean and sustainable energy goals. Participants will engage in meetings with national and regional government officials, chambers of commerce, and business groups and benefit from one-on-one business appointments with potential buyers, agents, distributers, and joint venture partners and additionally attend networking receptions.
Launched in December 2021, Clean EDGE Asia aims to support and accelerate Asia’s clean energy transition by harnessing the expertise and resources of the U.S. government, the private sector, international financial institutions, and like-minded governments. Mission stops will be Indonesia (Jakarta) and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi) and an optional program in the Philippines (Manila).

Market Development Cooperator Program
Do you work for a trade association or other nonprofit group that promotes U.S. exports? Are you interested in grant funding and partnership with the Department of Commerce? Visit trade.gov/mdcp to learn how to apply for ITA’s 2022 Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) and win an award of up to $300,000. Awardees partner with ITA on a 3-5-year project designed to remove trade barriers and help U.S. firms to export. The MDCP is the U.S. government’s most successful export assistance program, generating over $300 in U.S. exports for every $1 in ITA funding and supporting an average of 14,000 jobs annually.
