Exporter Update - February 2022

Exporter of the Month

OIS & BSD logos

Oregon International School (OIS) is an international charter school hosted by Baker School District in Baker City, Oregon.

OIS forms long-term student exchange relationships with likeminded sister schools around the world, and has relied on U.S. Commercial Service matchmaking programs, in-country intelligence, and virtual introductions to achieve their vision of having two sister schools on each continent.

Their goal of enhancing global cultural awareness in Baker City, while showing the world the best of Oregon, is well underway in Cambodia (MOU with prominent Phnom Penh school signed!), China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Hong Kong, Peru, and Taiwan! 2022 will see outreach in Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

Did you know: In the 2019-2020 academic year, there were 10,705 foreign students in Oregon, bringing $380.3 million in economic benefit, and supporting 3,703 jobs? We applaud OIS for their part in contributing to the educational services industry, their drive and determination to make Baker City a global student exchange hub, and for the recent signings of successful international agreements!

February: Website Globalization for Business in 3 Stages eCommerce sales success is driven by your ability to be found when someone is searching online. If you can’t be found in search, you can’t make the sale. This is especially true for international online sales where it is likely that your only interface with a customer will be through your website.
