Vietnam remains an attractive destination for franchised businesses. With its positive economic growth rate last year and population, the future of franchising is promising in Vietnam. The Franchise Expo Paris will include a special USA Pavilion in the International pavilion area. This leading franchise show in Europe in 2019 had 400 exhibitors and 35.000+ visitors including almost 3.000 international visitors from 101 countries. Join thousands of entrepreneurs and future business owners at the International Franchise Expo, the largest franchise expo in the country that reaches all industries. The International Franchise Expo is part of the Trade Events Partnership Program facilitated by the U.S. Commercial Service.
This annual 2 day International Franchise Expo features up to 400 franchise exhibitors, with investments ranging from $5,000 to $1M+ and a wide range of product categories. Visitors have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with executives from exhibiting franchisors and to also attend in-depth conference programs, as well as free seminars. Franchising is a strategy proven to grow businesses quickly in over 75 different industries, and as such the opportunities at IFE cover multiple markets and industries.
The 2021 International Franchise Expo is planned for both in-person and virtual attendance, providing greater flexibility around travel and the current environment.
- The U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) will return this year to recruit foreign delegations to attend a planned in-person event, and exhibiting U.S. franchisors will have an opportunity to meet the prospects from different countries.
- The USCS will be available for export trade counselling in the International Trade Center and will assist further introductions.

Recent Event Summaries
GERMANY: In February, the U.S. Commercial Service staff in Berlin, Germany, Sabrina Leipold and Brittany Banta, coordinated an Outlook for the Franchise Industry in Germany, 2021. Speakers from the Embassy and private industry were featured, all of who were also key figures during the franchise trade mission stop in November 2019. The twenty-six companies that attended said it provided very helpful information.
Australia/New Zealand: In March, U.S. Commercial Service Staff Members John Kanawati, Sydney Australia; Eric Johnson, Atlanta USEAC; and Ian Walker, Auckland New Zealand; were featured speakers on a Outlook for Franchising in Australia and New Zealand, 2021 program along with seven private industry speakers from the Oceania region. The over forty participants gave incredibly positive reviews on the program.
Ukraine: In April, U.S. Commercial Service staff in Kiev, Ukraine, Olga Vashchenko, Ilona Shtrom, and Sean Timmins, coordinated the Franchise Market Overview Best Prospects for U.S. Franchisors in Ukraine. They noted it was a very successful first of its kind event in the Ukraine.
Philippines: In April, Franchise Team Leader, Eric Johnson, presented to Philippine investors during a virtual program, Select USA & the Philippines 2021: Welcoming Philippine Brands to the United States. The presentation focused on alignment of the U.S. franchising industry, market entry strategies utilizing details of the 2021 International Franchise Expo, a U.S. Dept. of Commerce 2021 Trade Event Partnership program event.

Meet the U.S. Commercial Service Franchise Specialist: Stephanie Delgado Vera, Commercial Assistant U.S. Dept. of Commerce | International Trade Administration U.S. Embassy Bogota, Colombia

Stephanie Delgado joined the US&FCS in January 2021. Stephanie will be the franchising sector lead for Colombia and is now actively promoting beauty and food concepts to the Colombian market. Stephanie is committed to showcasing the American Franchise sector in Colombia, and is coordinating a Franchise Webinar for mid-August 2021. Prior to joining US&FCS, Stephanie worked for the Department of International Trade at the British Embassy and AmCham Colombia. We welcome Stephanie into the Franchising ecosystem!
