Virtual Solid Waste and Recycling B2B Event Registration is OPEN!

The U.S. Department of Commerce is pleased to invite you to the B2B/B2G Virtual Solid Waste & Recycling Event, taking place September 14-17, 2020. This is a free online event, and U.S. companies are being granted early access to the matchmaking platform to register and create their profiles visible to interested international buyers. Once you register, you can ​immediately request B2G meeting​s with my colleagues. B2B meeting requests will be available after our international buyers start registering over the next week. WEFTEC Connect - A Virtual Event

The U.S. Commercial Service is pleased to announce we are once again partnering with the Water Environment Federation to support U.S. participants at WEFTEC Connect, the fully virtual event this year from October 5-9, 2020.  Our international specialists from markets around the world will participate and be available for counseling sessions with interested U.S. participants.  They will also be recruiting international buyers and partners interested in U.S. technology to participate in the online platform.  Registration for WEFTEC Connect is open, and you can learn more HERE.  We hope to connect with you online!  If you have questions about our support at the show, please contact Elizabeth.Laxague@trade.gov or Frances.Selema@trade.gov

Expo Agua - Explore Opportunities in Peru's Water and Wastewater Sector

The U.S. Commercial Service is pleased to partner with the organizers of Expo Agua Virtual 2020 to connect U.S. exporters to opportunities in Peru's water and wastewater sectors.

2021 Middle East and North Africa Infrastructure Road Shows

Throughout the Middle East countries are making large infrastructure and construction project investments to further promote economic development and diversification of their economies, generating numerous deal opportunities for U.S. companies. To showcase U.S. expertise in this field, the U.S. Department of Commerce will be hosting Infrastructure Summits in the Gulf and North Africa which will include government ministry presentations and panel discussions. Conference participation will be free for U.S. companies and networking opportunities will be available with senior government and private sector leaders. U.S. Commercial Service matchmaking programs will be available for a fee to secure pre-arranged meetings during the conference.  

The Gulf Deal Team Road Show in mid-March 2021 will first stop in Abu Dhabi, UAE then will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for one-day infrastructure summits in each country. U.S. Embassy officials from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar will also be available to highlight opportunities in their respective markets. 

The North Africa Deal Team Road Show in mid-May 2021 will first stop in Cairo, Egypt then will travel to, Tunis, Tunisia, for one-day infrastructure summits in each country. Commercial Officers from U.S. Embassies throughout the region will be on hand to meet with U.S. companies and counsel them on export opportunities in their markets. North Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco) is a critical trade hub for the United States.

Trade Leads and Tenders

Location: Brazil
A Brazilian engineering and sanitation company has won a concession in Sao Paulo to build and operate two sewage treatment plants and is currently seeking U.S. suppliers for the following equipment: Low energy consumption sludge dryers, MBBR or Biofilm, and Disc filters that reduce the size of densifiers.

Location: Serbia
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce is seeking to begin a domestic glass recycling and glass bottle production project. There are opportunities for equipment suppliers, operators, and an EPC for facility construction, with industrial and government support. EXIM Bank and the DFC are also supporting projects in the country.

Location: Turkey
Envirotek, an environmental products distributor company, is seeking to represent U.S. companies with the following technologies: environmental friendly and non-toxic water treatment, odor management, industrial biocleaning, and reducing sludge production in water treatment plants.

Location: Israel
Mekorot, Israel's government-owned water utility, published a pre-qualification announcement for the Design, Drilling, Testing and Equipping of Drinking Water Wells, including Procurement and Installation of Pumping Stations. The tender is comprised of two separate projects, each of the two projects is estimated at $80-100 million. Shikun & Binui, Israel's leading infrastructure group and EPC firm, is looking to partner with US Water Drilling Companies/Contractors to jointly bid on this tender.

Location: Togo
The Government of the Republic of Togo received financing from the African Development Bank Group for the Agribusiness Transformation Project of Togo. The project seeks to recruit a consulting organization to complete technical studies of the B9 dam and the associated irrigated perimeter.

Location: Kazakhstan
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development intends to select and contract a consulting company to carry out an Environmental and Social Assessment of the Kazakhstan: Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan Road Project. The Government of Israel recently published a Pre-Qualification announcement regarding a PPP tender for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a biological treatment plant for contaminated groundwater.
