Conference - Patient Day: Saving Lives Through American Innovation

In March 2017, 19 U.S. Commercial Service offices around the globe will host Patient Day programs, where foreign government regulators and high level officials will see the personal impact U.S. medical technology has on their local population. Patient Day seeks to build the human connection through sharing personal stories of how U.S. technology is improving lives in their country.

Program:  Each country’s program will feature presentations from local doctors and patients who will talk about how US technologies have improved their lives. A networking reception where regulators can speak with US healthcare technology firms will follow these presentations.

Conference - Doing Business with the United Nations

Please join the U.S. Commercial Service New York and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations for the 4th annual "Doing Business with the United Nations" seminar in downtown Manhattan.

 This seminar will offer an introduction to the UN's $17.6 billion procurement market and feature speakers from the largest procurers (in $ volume) in the UN system including:

  • United Nations Procurement Division (UN/PD)
  • United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
  • UN International Children's Emergency Relief Fund (UNICEF)
  • UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS)

Presentations and panels will address headquarter and international field tenders, followed by a networking lunch and optional one-on-one appointments* with UN representatives. This event will be informative both for suppliers who may have already bid on UN tenders (but not yet had success) as well as for companies who need help getting started.

Trade Fair - China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) and the CORPORATE EXECUTIVE OFFICE (CEO) PROGRAM

The CEO is a specific area on the trade show floor located within the USA Pavilion that is subdivided into meeting space (with tables and chairs, one set per each U.S. company), business center (internet access, small desk, etc.) and small lounge/seating area. The program is an alternative to the traditional trade show booth and offers a unique, cost-effective way for companies to participate in the largest medical equipment exhibition in Asia. The purpose of the mission is to introduce U.S. firms to the rapidly expanding healthcare sectors in these two countries and to assist U.S. companies in pursuing opportunities in this sector.  U.S. companies will attend pre-scheduled meetings with potential agents, distributors, end users, industry contacts and government officials for the goal of launching or increasing exports.  

 U.S. medical devices are highly regarded by the local medical community and often dominate the health landscape.  Local distributors are eager to see the latest innovations from the U.S. The region   has a growing middle class demanding better access to healthcare, increasing the need for better healthcare treatment and facilities. Angola offers medium-term business opportunities for US companies focused in top prospect sectors.
