Issue Number: 6-23-2011ALERT: Fake e-mail claims to be from IRS, users urged to exercise caution Numerous Tribes have alerted us to a fraudulent email campaign that appears to come from the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS does not send any account notices via email. All tribes are reminded not to respond to email from the IRS unless it is from a person known to you. The current fraudulent emails may reference a rejection of a payment on the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS). It may also list an address for an IRS location in Landover, Maryland.
