IRS Releases Revised Versions of Form 8038 and Form 8038-R

The Internal Revenue Service has released revised versions of Form 8038, Information Return for Tax-Exempt Private Activity Bonds, and Form 8038-R, Request for Recovery of Overpayment under Arbitrage Rebate Provisions.   Form 8038 is used by issuers of tax-exempt bonds to provide the IRS with the information required by Internal Revenue Code section 149 and to monitor the requirements of Internal Revenue Code sections 141 through 150.   Form 8038-R is used by issuers of state and local bonds to request a refund of amounts paid with Form 8038-T, Arbitrage Rebate, Yield Reduction, and Penalty in Lieu of Arbitrage Rebate.  The revised Form 8038 and Form 8038-R are available by clicking here.
