IRS announces temporary fuel reporting relief
The IRS is granting temporary relief from reporting requirements for certain fuel uses. This relief provides temporary flexibility in filing, reporting and recordkeeping requirements for certain fuel uses. Treasury and the IRS are evaluating simplified procedures for administering those requirements.
Business taxpayers should review the guidance to determine whether they qualify for the relief, and which requirements remain in effect. They should also continue to maintain appropriate records and follow federal tax rules to ensure compliance.
