Updated User Fees - Effective October 1, 2024 Dear IVES Participants,
User fees for transcript requests received in the legacy fax channel for Enterprise File Storage (EFS) will be increasing from the current $2.00 user fee to $4.00 per transcript requested. Any transcript received October 1, 2024 and subsequent in the legacy fax channel will be subject to the $4.00 user fee. Transcript requests received in the Taxpayer First Act (TFA) portals, WebUI and Application-to-Application (A2A), will temporarily have those user fees waived starting October 1, 2024.
The user fee for the legacy fax channel is increasing due to additional costs incurred by the IRS, such as increased labor costs, to process each transcript request. The IVES program runs off a fee-for-service model, with the user fee being reviewed every two calendar years. Although the user fee does not often need to be adjusted to cover program costs, the results of the last review required an adjustment to that fee.
