1. IRS Updates the FATCA Registration System

The IRS has updated the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) Registration System to include the following updates:

Updates for Sponsoring Entities

Sponsoring Entities must cancel approved sponsored entities that they need to remove instead of deleting them
Sponsoring Entities can include canceled sponsored entities in COPA and periodic certifications

Entities should review the updated FATCA Online Registration User Guide for additional details.
